History

In The Mood Dance is an extremely successful entertainment group.
We have been dancing together now for over nine years
and learnt to dance through the classes of
Brighton Jive http://www.brighton-jive.co.uk/

The In The Mood Dance Team

In The Mood Dance, was started from just an idea by Pat Tullett, Avril Watts, Kay Walker and her husband Alan Walker. The

In The Mood Dance Group

was born. Avril Watts, Pat Tullett and his most recent partner Jill Foster, have since retired from the group, and now only two of the original founder members Kay & Alan Walker still exist within the group.

In The Mood Dance has now a sound standing in the local community. The idea of In The Mood Dance is to dance for local charities and rest homes to entertain and bring back some nostalgia of the 1940’s dance halls.
The original four started dancing different routines and practicing at Avril’s house
(a venue to practise, had not been found at that time).

Obtaining more dancers was the next step, Sharon & John Williams, Carol & Dave Fairbairn, and David Romaine were the next dancers to join, and we had our first booking, a rest home in Brighton.

The bookings started to come in, slow at first and then after two to three months the bookings took off. With that we needed more dancers, to the current list that is shown below
Over the few years that we have been entertaining together, we have danced in front of thousands of people from many walks of life.
Today we are the best 1940’s entertainment group on the Sussex coast of the United Kingdom.
